I have stood
At the stones
Staring
Names
Dates
Beginnings
Endings
Lives fulfilled
Dreams unrealized
Mothers
Daughters
Brothers
Sons
Gone
And then forgotten

Post a Commenta little sorrow,I love it
Great poem, I too love to go read the stones in cemetaries, there is something sad, peaceful and yet comforting about it. I also wonder about the lives and deaths of the people and what their thoughts and dreams were. The children make me sad.
Very nice poem.
Very thought-provoking poem. I, too, have occasionally wandered through cemeteries, looking at the stones and wondering about the lives of the people buried underneath. It is sometimes possible to learn quite a bit from that information.
Fantastic Poem. Great job!
NIce one Beck.
