This Yogurt Had Great Ingredients and Tasted Really Good

Until recently, we were not getting yogurt. I have been trying hard to get as much organic foods as I can afford and yogurt just wasn't making the list. However, since my toddler son started to eat more and more dairy I thought that it might be fun to get some for him to try. The first one that I got was Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt. I thought that the yogurt tasted good and enjoyed it with some fruit. My son on the other hand was not all that fond of plain yogurt and I guess I can't say I blame him. This got me thinking that I should find something that sounded sweeter but was still organic. What I found was Stonyfield Farm YoKids Organic Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt.

I love strawberries and although my son is not that big of a fan of them I thought that he still might enjoy a strawberry vanilla yogurt. It certainly would be sweeter than plain yogurt. While eying it in the grocery store I wanted to see how much of the ingredients were organic. I think that it is very important to buy organic strawberries so I hoped that the strawberries that were used in the yogurt would be organic. The ingredients of the Stonyfield Farm YoKids Organic Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt are cultured pasteurized organic low fat milk, naturally milled organic sugar, organic strawberry juice from concentrate, organic natural vanilla flavor, natural flavor, organic beet juice concentrate, pectin and vitamin D. The yogurt contained six live active cultures including L. acidophilys, bifidus L. casei and L. rhamnosus. I loved that there wasn't food coloring used to give the yogurt a pink color and instead they used beet juice concentrate.

There was no way of telling that the yogurt used beet juice concentrate as it didn't taste anything like beets. It was actually really good. I thought that the strawberry flavor was nice as well as the vanilla flavor in it. It was not overly sweet but still brought plenty of sweetness to the table. My son enjoyed it so much more. He gobbled up the four ounce container of Stonyfield Farm YoKids Organic Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt in no time. I was so glad that I decided to get it. It came in a six pack that included a second flavor. The pack contained a total of twenty-four ounces of yogurt and only cost me two dollars and sixty-two cents. I thought that this was a very good price and there was some really good nutrition that came from the little four ounce containers. Also the company said that they gave ten percent of their profits to the Earth.

Before heading over to the Stonyfield Farm website to see what they meant about the giving to the Earth I looked over the nutrition facts. In the little container of Stonyfield Farm YoKids Organic Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt there was eighty calories with only ten calories from fat. There was only five milligrams of cholesterol and seventy milligrams of sodium in the container as well as five grams of protein and thirteen grams of both sugars and carbohydrates. The minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts had calcium listed with twenty percent and vitamin D was listed with twenty-five percent. I thought that these nutrition facts looked great and I saw on their website that every year they give ten percent of their profits to projects and organizations that work to restore and protect the Earth. This was something that I was happy to support. I would definitely recommend for anyone to try Stonyfield Farm YoKids Organic Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt and know that I will get it again.
