Stop Being Late for Work

Stop being late for work. You can bridge the gap between those extra ten minutes that slow you down in the morning. Usually, its just a matter of changing how you prep for the next day and what you do while you getting ready to leave the house.

1. Pick out your clothes. Any person who's on time regularly knows that preplanning what you'll wear the next day is a time-saver. You can shave off precious minutes avoiding the inevitable search for matching pants and clean underwear.

2. Take medication early. Certain drugs designed to clear out allergies or relieve pain make you sleepy. If you have to take them, do so early - prior to 7 pm. This will give your body enough time to process and recover from most of the side effects.

3. Check traffic in the a.m. Find out how quickly or slowly your commute will be before going to work. You can do this easily by watching the news, signing online or listening to the radio. Use the information you get to readjust your departure time and determine when you need to jet out the front door.

4. Reconsider your commute. Your route might be what's holding you back. Stop being late for work by changing your path. Take the back roads. Use a different highway. Tweak whatever you're doing until you find the quickest, most efficient way to your job.

5. Make lunch the day before. Get to work five minutes earlier by packing your lunch the day before. You'll avoid scrambling around in the morning trying to throw together a sandwich. You'll also give yourself a chance to do something novel - eat breakfast.

6. Limit your TV watching. Don't let the boob tube mesmerize you. Keep the television off and only turn this item on when you want to check traffic or the weather. In addition, never sit down in front of your television - even if you're getting dressed - because you'll lose track of time and get sucked into whatever is airing.

7. Avoid texting friends. No matter how much you love the people in your life, don't start texting them as soon as you get up. Get dressed and to work before you pull out your phone. Then, check-in and say "hello" after you're safe and secure at your desk.

Ready for a change? Stop being late for work by using these 7 tips. By being prompt, you'll start your day off right and impress your job at the same time.
