Stop Binge Eating: 3 Tips to Get Your Eating Under Control
Stop Eating Junk Foods; Get Your Eating Under Control with These Tips
You know if you can stop binge eating you will lose weight. You will feel better. You will have a healthier longer life. And You will even build a leaner body, but how do you stop binge eating?
Before I can tell you let me share a little about myself. I too was a binge eater for the longest time. Often times I would start eating and couldn't stop. I remember however that I mainly would binge eat after extreme periods of dieting. Basically I would find out about a new diet, get all excited, and start trying it out. I would often eat too little, exercise too much or have other unrealistic expectations. I would be able to keep the diet for long. One day I would crash and binge eat. And I kept doing this repeatedly with different diets until one day I asked myself How do I stop Binge Eating?
These 3 tips should help you stop binge eating...
Tip 1 - Don't Diet
Diets don't work. Diets aren't realistic. Diets can't be maintained forever. By dieting you are setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. Diets will often lead you to binge eating.
Most diets and food plans forbid you from eating junk foods and sugary foods. This is problematic. Avoiding junk foods will making you crave them even more. Until one day you will crash and will eat every junk food in sight until your stomach hurts. So it's obvious that dieting will lead you to a binge eating episode.
Tip 2 - Eat Junk Foods in Controlled Moderation
Eating junk foods in controlled moderation will help you stop binge eating before you even start. If you totally avoid junk foods or sugary foods you will crave them even more. So instead, eat them in controlled moderation.
Controlled moderation is buying one cookie to eat instead of a whole box. If you plan to eat one cookie and buy a whole box, you will probably end up overeating. With controlled moderation you eat junk foods in controlled portion sizes. This will keep your cravings low.
Tip 3 - Aim for Slow Progress
Maybe you want to stop binge eating. Or you just want to stop eating junk foods or fast foods. Well I got news for you. It takes time to build healthier eating habits. Aim for slow gradual progress. Don't cut out all junk foods and fast foods overnight. Rather eat less and less junk foods as time goes on.
If you eat 5 junk foods a day, try eating 4 for the next couple of weeks. Then try eating 3 for the following two weeks etc. This way building healthy eating habits becomes extremely easier.
