Basically, when you eat too much you are adding more calories to your body than it can burn. The result is that it then stores those extra calories as fat. Suddenly, you find yourself needing to lose an extra 20 pounds.
Now that we know how you got there, how do you start reversing the process and lose weight? Well, instead of cutting down on massive amounts of calories each day, try to do it slowly.
Slow and consistent calorie reduction is the key to being able to lose weight more easily over an extended period of time. For example, a sugared soda or other drink will contain approximately 100 calories. Cutting one of those out everyday would eliminate 36,500 calories a year...around 10 pounds of stored fat every year!
It is amazing at how the little things we take for granted add up over the course of the year. Just by getting rid of one drink each day can have a dramatic effect and make a real difference. Naturally, you should have a much more healthy diet and plan of action than just this, but it is the example you should take notice of.
Losing weight is not the easiest thing to accomplish, but just by eliminating an extra 200-500 calories a day can make it a lot easier.
