Stop a Cold

Stop a Cold

It is that time of year again, the dreaded cold and flu season. Now is the time to pump up your immune system. This is your body's best defense against a cold. Everyone hates to get a cold. If you are one of the million unfortunate ones who happen to catch a cold, here is some great advice on how to stop a cold.

Take care of yourself. I can't stress that enough. Eat well balanced meals and take a multi vitamin high in vitamin C and E. Eat tons of fruits and vegetables. I mean eight to ten servings a day. Broccoli, carrots and spinach are some of the best vegetables to eat to help stop a cold. Cut back on meat and dairy products. Pump your body full of orange juice or anything high in vitamin C. Some studies show that garlic and Echinacea supplements help curb a cold. Drink plenty of water. Many people try Airborne. There is no proof that it works but it is extremely high in vitamin C and millions swear by it. It won't hurt to supplement with it. This keeps your immune system functioning at optimum levels and you can stop a cold in a much shorter time frame.

Stay sterile. Wash your hands arms and face with soap and water constantly through out the day. Avoid touching your face with your hands. Use a disposable tissue to blow your nose and toss it out immediately after use. Do not reuse it again chances are you will re-infect yourself with the cold virus.

One trick that sometimes works is to put drops of hydrogen peroxide in your ears. I know this sounds bizarre but this will shorten a cold infection's life span. It works best if you tilt your head to the side and put two to three drops in and let it bubble, it may sting a little. Wait until the bubbling stops and do the other ear. This works well because most cold bacteria infect your body by entering the ear canal. Hydrogen peroxide will kill the cold bacteria.

If you can do all of these steps to help yourself then you will significantly shorten the life of a cold virus if not stop a cold altogether.

I wish you a lifetime of excellent health and happiness. I would love to hear how these remedies worked for you.
