Stop Knocking Triond

I've Ignored Too Many Attacks on Triond Here - It is Time to Speak Up!

Janet Jenson
It was never my plan to write an article praising some other Paid-to-Write program on AC, and especially not as my first article here. However, it was only after having gained a little experience writing for both Triond and Helium, that I did join AC. I have been coming to look around from time to time, not sure when or where I wanted to begin writing here.

The first time I read articles on AC disparaging Helium and Triond, I let it pass, but in retrospect it probably did work, perhaps subconsciously, to discourage my interest in writing here. The second time, I said to myself, "This is odd." The third time I started getting annoyed, and today when I read what seemed to me to be outright lies about Triond, well, what can I say? The idea that people are trying to turn AC into a platform to attack Triond forced my hand. It was shocking to see people thanking the writer for misinformation and deciding not even to give Triond a chance.

I love Triond. I like that it is not competitive. I like that aside from using common sense, decency, and attention to the niceties of grammar, syntax, and spelling, there are few rules. I like that Triond allows its writers to go back and correct their copy if they makes mistakes, or delete them even, and that it is an easy process, with no begging or whining. I like that Triond users are not forced to pander to a rating system. I like thinking that Triond runs articles through a plagiarism check before publishing them. I like the way they showcase my articles and the way they showcase me!

I especially like the fact that I've yet to see any Triond writer criticize AC or try to discourage authors from writing here. For that matter, I've never seen a Helium writer dump on AC either.

Having read an article here that states Triond's minimum payout is some huge figure, I was outraged. Everyone can meet and vastly exceed Triond's low minimum payout every single month. It is only 50 cents!

FIFTY CENTS, folks! Not $50 as reported here. Just half a dollar. I cannot understand why anyone would report something so wrong. Maybe it is because Triond doesn't pay for referrals. Maybe not.

Personally, I am more than happy with what I am earning on Triond. I have no complaints against Helium either. I think the two play against one another extremely well. When I know exactly what I want to say and have an article already typed up and ready or when I feel like being non-competitive and free and on my own, I choose Triond. When I feel like being part of a community I go to Helium. I like Helium even better now that they have given each writer the "buddy list" option and encourage us to contact one another. In theory, I don't care for the rating system, but in practice it is really pretty cool. When Helium e-mailed to tell me I had already earned some small distinction as a writer there, I realized that was a pat on the back I couldn't have gotten without good ratings.

Maybe if people here on AC show me they know how to pull together and cooperate as members of a writing community broader than just one site, I'll start having some good things to say about Associated Content, too. I look forward to that. I really do. But right now, I'm not holding my breath.

Updates on Triond: 1) They do pay for referrals now (something new), and 2) When I said "everyone" can reach the 50 cent limit, I should have said "everyone with a PayPal account." It is true that people who cannot use PayPal for whatever reason have the higher threshold. Thanks for all the comments

Actually you are half right and whoever posted the $50 figure is half right. If you elect to be paid through Paypal, you have to meet the $0.50 minimum. If you elect to be paid by a check, you have to reach a $50 minimum.

I believe Triond is legit, and I don't mind it, but most everyone has to work a while to hit that $.50 mark. I'm still waiting to make enough to payout my huge $.50! Still like the site tho- but you definitely won't make money overnight- if ever...I put my effort into AC- I even make better residual pay through them than Triond, but to each his own. I would still recommend Triond to others because there's always the hope the money will start coming, which is a good incentive to keep writing :)

Thanks for the information. I read a lot of negative articles, but I'm glad it's working out for some people. I'll give it a try.

Thanks, I wasn't going to join Triond until I read your article. It seems to be fair in all respect. A lot of help.. :D

Good luck, kk. And Crystal, do add me as a buddy over there when you get settled in ;-)

I'm giving it a try. Thanks for the accurate information.

Your article sure is informative. I want to collect some money from here and there and a nice sum by the end of month. I m currently working with AC and Bukisa and want to give Triond a try.
I don't know if I can generate a significant sum by the 'end'. let's see how it goes.

AC is never bashed because it is legit. Triond is not bad per se, but their constant technical errors, and lack of payment is what is killing them. When you post for triond, you have no choice, you loose the rights to your work. AC offers you the chance to decide, Triond was unaccessable by most last night and not one single customer service rep let anyone know what was going on.
