Just recently, I began making from-scratch pizza at home again, after roughly a three year lapse. Within the past couple of months, I have prepared homemade pizza three or four times and each time, I have utilized Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese.

Presented here, is an article which reviews and examines Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese.

Size
The net weight of the package of Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese being reviewed here is 16 ounces (one pound). According to the product's nutrition facts label, the package holds about sixteen 1/4 cup (28 grams ) servings. The shreds of mozzarella are fairly short and uniform in size.

In physical size, the package is pretty good-sized, it measures approximately 11.5" x 7". When I utilize this mozzarella cheese, one package usually provides me with enough cheese to make two fairly large pizza pies, a couple of meatball subs and at least three other sandwiches.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 16 ounce package of Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese at West Hartford, Connecticut area Stop & Shop Supermarkets is approximately $4.69.

This price seems very reasonable to me. Similar sized packages of name brand mozzarella cheese generally retail for considerably more than this cheese.

Texture / Consistency
As packaged, Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese maintains an appealing appearance and texture that speaks of high quality and freshness.

With mozzarella cheese however, the texture of the cheese when it is heated or melted is usually more important than its raw texture. When this cheese is melted, it becomes nice and gooey and stringy, the way that good mozzarella cheese is supposed to be.

The overall mouth feel offered by this cheese is very appealing.

Taste / Flavor
This mozzarella cheese is the real thing. No fillers, no cheese by-products, this mozzarella cheese is just as good as any pizza parlor mozzarella. Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese is a low-moisture mozzarella and it is a part-skim cheese. It is also not too salty, as some varieties of mozzarella cheese are wont to be.

To me, this mozzarella cheese tastes good enough to eat in a grilled cheese sandwich. It has improved the flavor of every dish I have added it to. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 10.

Stop & Shop Natural Shredded Mozzarella Cheese is packaged in a fairly heavy duty plastic bag. The green and white front label features an illustration of a calzone on a plate and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information, as well as a recipe.
