Stop Smoking Survival Kit

When you decide to stop smoking it seems that it is easier said than done. Sometimes you need a more than just "will power" to help you on your road to becoming smoke free. A survival kit can help you get through the rough patch and survive the temptation that come with becoming smoke free. The following products should be in everyone's survival kit.

Carrot Sticks:

Carrot sticks can help with the hand to mouth habit that is formed during your smoking years. With them being healthy you do not have to fear the added pounds that come with added snacking. Just make sure you keep these handy so that anytime you feel the urge to grab a cigarette the carrot sticks can be grabbed instead.

Vitamin C:

Vitamin C helps the body to get through the nicotine withdraw phase. Take a vitamin C tablet first thing in the morning, again at lunch time and one before bed. This is one of the items that I was given when I went through a Stop Smoking Workshop through the church. I must tell you that it really does do wonders for the body when you are going through the withdraw symptoms.

Cinnamon Mouth Wash:

There are some things that when you put them in your mouth will make smoking a cigarette extremely nasty. Cinnamon mouth wash is one of those things. Keep a small bottle on hand at all times and rinse your mouth anytime the urge to smoke gets too strong. This is an item that was mentioned during the church's Stop Smoking Workshop. I personally find that I can not smoke for at least 30 minutes after rinsing my mouth.

Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice:

Another great item that makes smoking a cigarette taste nasty. It helps to kill the urge to smoke and should be kept on hand for any emergency. I recommend getting the sweetened kind versus the unsweetened kind because of the taste. If you can not bring yourself to use it then it is worthless in your fight to stop smoking.

Chewing Gum:

This is another great tool for becoming smoke free. Find a flavor of gum that you like and chew away to keep those urges at bay. I personally have trouble chewing gum due to my teeth so I was not able to use this method. I do personally know people that do use this method and say that it does work.
