Nevertheless, there are a few home cures available to fight this dilemma. Most important of all the remedies is to keep your feet always clean and dry as much as you can do. You should make it a practice to change your shoes and socks regularly. Another way of controlling the excess sweating is to keep off using such shoes or socks, which are produced using any synthetic materials. Lawn tennis shoes are an example of synthetic shoes. Wearing synthetic shoes or socks will increase the diaphoresis in your feet. Your shoes and socks should be able to breathe to reduce sweating of feet.
Perspiration in the body is stepped up by consuming certain foods. Spicy foods, caffeine and alcohol are acknowledged to lead to increased sweating. Besides this iodine is also considered accountable for excessive sweating of feet. The consumption of food containing more of iodine needs to be decreased. Foods such as, white onion, asparagus, broccoli, turkey, beef and liver are confirmed to be rich in iodine. It is better to avoid eating them.
It is advisable to increase the intake of zinc. Zinc is very good in checking the sweating and reducing the bad odor of sweat. You must take ample quantity of food containing zinc; otherwise compensate it by consuming zinc directly. It is noteworthy that care should be taken against the excess consumption of zinc. Extra intake of zinc can cause troubles like soaking up of copper in body in the long run. It is better to consult your doctor so that zinc is taken in proper quantity.
Taking green tea twice daily is also helpful in cutting down sweating of feet.
A foot soak is also useful to reduce excess sweating of feet. Mix five tea bags in a quart of water to make a foot soak. When the solution is cool, dip your feet in it for about half an hour. Tannic acid is another useful natural antiperspirant and assists to overcome the excess perspiration in feet. When you have taken a bath, dry your feet fully using a towel. A hand blower can also be used if it is felt necessary.
After drying the feet, sprinkle some talcum powder on the feet. You can use baking soda also and rub it on the sole, sides and between the toes of your feet. This will suck up the sweat. Spray some deodorant on feet to control foul smell. In place of a deodorant you can use antiperspirant, which comprise aluminum chlorohydrate, to spray on your feet. The problem of excess sweating of feet could be also because of heredity. It is always advisable to consult a physician prior to start any treatment or use of any medicines.
The best way to control the excess sweating of feet is to have proper intake of recommended food, observe cleanliness and take medicines on the doctor's advice.
