Stop World Hunger by Donating Your Calories

Some people lose weight to enhance their appearance, some for health purposes while some do it to please other people. If you ever want to lose weight for the right reason, then maybe you should shed your pounds to stop world hunger. A company called Diet Power, Inc. has recently launched a website called www.DonateYourCalories.com. The aim of the website is to calculate the dollars you save when dieting and the children you can feed while losing those unwanted calories.

In a study conducted by Indiana University, in 2005, 63 percent of Americans were overweight or obese. The numbers have doubled over the last 30 years and obesity has now been ranked as America's top 10 killers. The problem isn't confined in the US alone. In Britain, a recent government report predicts that at least half of their population will be obese in 25 years.

Terry Dunkle, founder and CEO of Diet Power, Inc. says that she established the website in order to erase one of today's greatest ironies: While more and more people are becoming too fat for their own good, millions of others around the world, including the US, are going to bed hungry every night. Dunkle adds that donating one's calories is a win-win situation. According to Dunkle, by donating your calories, you can improve your health, stop world hunger, cut insurance premiums, and build international goodwill without ever spending a dime since the money you are donating is the money that you're already wasting by overeating.

To use the online tool you first need to identify if you're overweight by calculating your body mass index by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in meters multiplied by itself. A normal body mass index for a woman 5 feet and 4 inches in height is 18.5-25 pounds. To determine if your body mass index is ideal for your height, there are a lot of resources in the internet to determine this.

Anything over your normal body index is considered overweight. Other online resources will also determine now much pounds you need to lose in order to achieve your healthy body mass index. After you've determined how many pounds you should lose, you can head over to DonateYourCalories.com and use their online tool by indicating the amount of pounds you want to lose and the period of time you want to lose them. The tool will then reply that by losing that much pounds, you can lower your grocery bill by such amount and the amount calculated will be the amount that you can donate to a typical hunger charity.

According to Diet Power, they are operating www.DonateYourCalories.com as a public service.
