Stores, Restaurants, and Other Venues Open Christmas Day

These Establishments Welcome Your Business Even on This Quiet Holiday

Adam Hughes
Christmas day is a great time to downshift from our busy lives and get to know our families all over again. All the same, modern Americans have an almost pathological need to get out of the house and into the public where we can take in the bustle of a crowd. Whether you need to pick something up or just want to venture out for awhile, Christmas day doesn't necessarily mean that you're stuck at home. Below are some stores and other establishments that will be open at least part of the holiday. Just remember to call ahead before you leave to make sure that your local establishment is actually open.

IHOP
One of several restaurants that will have Christmas hours, IHOP is known for its pancakes but also offers a full menu for lunch and dinner.

Starbucks
Everyone's favorite java spot, Starbucks will keep you amped up through the holidays. Vente egg nog, anyone?

Walgreens
One of several drug store chains to offer Christmas hours, Walgreens is a good place to do last-minute shopping and pick up some essentials.

Kroger
There are some conflicting reports about whether all Kroger stores are open, so be sure to call ahead to check on your local establishment.

7-Eleven
Lots of gas stations and convenience stores will be open on Christmas, and 7-Eleven is arguably the most well-known of the bunch.

The Movies
It's becoming a Christmas tradition to follow up the family dinner with a trip to the theater to see a hot movie. There are always a couple of blockbusters released on Christmas day, too, so head over to Mr. Movie Times to see what's playing near you.

---------

Enjoy Christmas with your family and then, if you need to or want to, head out for some food or entertainment. These stores, restaurants, and other establishments have you covered.
