Storm Observations

Leslie Boe
Leaves are strewn about as
they are scattered by the wind;
Twigs, limbs and whole trees
bend and break with ease.

Lightning displays the dark,
gloomy sky;
the thunder sounds, telling
the storm is nearby.

The driving rain falls in
sheets from cloud to ground;
The continuous rain pools in
basements and streets.

The cost of a storm,
is financial and fear;
How will we rebuild?
Did our loved ones survive?
