Story of a Girl

This is the story of a girl who couldn't quite find her way,

You see what happened in her past made her into who she is today,

Exposed to the harsh realities of life from the day she was born,

All she wanted was love, all she got was a look of scorn,

She saw things that no little girl should have to see,

She prayed every night for god to give her wings so she could fly free,

She wondered what she did to deserve the things she had to endure,

She wondered over and over, to this day she's still not sure,

She saw the one she loved the most suffer and there was nothing she could do,

She'd just hide in the corner and cry until he was through,

The pain she held deep inside built a shell around her heart,

No one could help her, she was doomed from the start,

She tries to block the memories of an innocence lost,

She'd do anything to get it back, what ever the cost....
