Story Saturday

Bridget Ilene Delaney
It's Saturday and that means it is time for Story Saturday. Story Saturday is when I will tell you a story from my life. It may be short and sweet. It may be sad. It may be funny. It may have a moral. I may just be confusing. It is just to give you a glimpse into my life.

Every dog has things that it likes. Right now my mom has a dog named Niblet and I have a dog named Woofles. Niblet is definitely Chihuahua and we think he might be mixed with something else. Woofles is Chihuahua and some type of Terrier that has wired hair.

Woofles loves squeaky toys. We weren't sure if he would like toys, but he does love them. It is very funny. We can bring any toy home that squeaks and he is excited and runs to play with the squeaky toy. He has one favorite toy, though. I call it "Froggy." We had gone to a garage sale simply because the youth at the church we are attending were having it and we wanted to support them. As I looked, I found this toy frog that made a ribbiting sound. I thought it would make a cute dog toy. When I made it ribbit, Woofles got very excited, ran to me, and started pulling at it. I loved that as it was so adorable!

Niblet also like toys, but he seems to prefer toys that rattle. However, he also has one favorite toy. When my mom bought the toy, she bought it before she had Niblet, trying to play with the dog she had before him, Micron. However, Micron did not play with it. Niblet found it. The toy is one of those ducks that had the part that makes the sound like it quacks. By now, the duck doesn't have the sound maker in it at all. It doesn't even have any stuffing in it by now. However, Niblet still loves it. It is very funny as it is his favorite toy. While Niblet is neutered, he likes to hump the duck. This led to my sister calling it Englebert Hump-A-Duck, so we now call it Englebert. Niblet knows what we mean when we tell him to "Go get Englebert."

Micron's favorite thing to do was roll in the dirt. If there were a good amount of dirt exposed, he'd run to it and roll around, covering himself in the dirt! Of course, this meant he would often get a bath, but Micron obviously liked the dirt more than he cared about getting a bath. Micron also liked to chase squirrels.

Marbles loved to play the game "no salesmen" with me. I couldn't play the game when my Daddy was home because it was noisy. It was a bit backwards for salesmen, but Marbles loved it anyway. I would close him in a hallway or a room, and then I'd knock on the door. He'd bark and then I'd open the door and I'd tell Marbles, "No salesmen allowed." Then he would insist on playing it again by going back into the room just a little bit instead of trying to get out the door. Marbles also had one favorite toy. He was a dog that loved tennis balls and got excited when anybody brought a cannister of them home and knew the sound of it happening. However, his favorite toy was a very old radiator hose. It was so old that anything in it was gone and dry. It was at the first house we rented in Lake Charles, so there was a backyard. He would toss the radiator tube and it would bounce in all kinds of crazy ways and he'd chase it. Then he would toss it again. He loved doing that.
