Stouffers Lean Cuisine Brick Oven Style Pizzas

Many of us are always looking for fast, healthy foods to eat on the run or when we are in a hurry. Some of options available out there are anything but healthy. Luckily, food companies have come to their senses and started making healthier food choices for those of us living in a fast paced world that are still trying to be a bit health conscious. One great option I discovered was Stouffers Lean Cuisine Brick Oven Style frozen pizzas. I tried the roasted garlic chicken pizza and was surprised as to how great it was. It is a square pizza and the crust was nice and crispy. It was a non uniform shape crust that looked hand tossed almost. You'd never know it was cooked in a microwave either. It comes in one of those boxes that you flip inside out and there is a special foil inside that you sit the pizza on to cook it in the microwave. In just 3 - 3 ½ minutes, you can have a tasty lunch or dinner. (A trick I do when I bring these for lunch at work is to sit it in the refrigerator when I get in first thing in the morning. By lunch time it is partially unfrozen, therefore cutting down on cook time) This is just a serving size for one person. Unfortunately, they do not make them in family sizes.

This pizza is no ordinary run of the mill pizza either. It doesn't have the usual tomato based pizza sauce. Instead it has a creamy garlic sauce. For toppings, this Lean Cuisine pizza has white meat chicken, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, and reduced fat mozzarella cheese. When I heated this up at work, the whole office filled with smell of garlic. There is a good amount of chicken on the pizza and the garlic taste is incredible. This is a great choice of a low fat lunch if you are looking for food like that. The roasted garlic chicken pizza contains just 7 grams of fat, 340 calories, and no trans fat. If you are following a low carb diet, this is not a choice of food you should make; it contains 49 grams of carbs. For those following the Weight Watchers Point System diet, this will cost you 8 points.

Other pizzas available in the brick oven style include BBQ Recipe Chicken Pizza and Gourmet Mushroom Pizza. They usually run about $3 something, but are often on sale for much less.
