Strange Powdery Substance Found at Gerber Headquarters

Just a couple of hours ago, emergency crews arrived at Gerber Corporate Headquarters in Fremont, Michigan. Gerber is known as a giant in the baby food market. Emergency crews and police responded to a call from a mailroom employee who stated that she'd opened an envelope that contained a strange powdery substance. She said that the substance was somewhat orange/brown and that it seemed to irritate her nose. It appears that other employees were also affected by exposure to the substance.

Police are still on the scene and are in the process of testing the substance. They say they may have to transport the substance to Lansing, to the State Police office, for further testing. In the meantime, employees have been transported to Gerber Hospital and anyone who came in contact with the mailroom or mailroom employees should contact the Fremont Police. The hospital has also been placed on lockdown as a precaution. The fact is they don't know what the substance is, and until they know further, they are trying to keep everything under control. Only medical staff are being permitted into the hospital.

Maybe this has no bearing on this story, but earlier today Nestle announced it's intent to purchase Gerber Baby Food for a reported 5.5 billion dollars. It's strange that this small little community would be spotlighted twice in the news today. I truly hope that all is well.
