Strange Things Bring Out Stranger Thoughts!

I love racing. It was not always that way. Four years ago, I would have said. 'Jimmie Johnson? Who is that? I have always sports, but racing was one thing I could not understand. Why would a bunch cars go around in a circle for hours and hours.

That was my original impression on the sport of racing. Than four years ago I got with the man I am married to today, and he was a racing fan. Week after week, he would watch Nascar Sprint Cup. I would sit with him and be like 'Boring'.

Not in these words but basically he told me to sit down, shut up, and give it a chance. If I did not like it after one race, he would never ask me to watch it with him again. To make it more interesting, he had me pick a driver. I will point out that my version of the event is a little bit nicer.

So I picked 88. I had no idea I was picking Dale Jr. at the time. I am a female, and new to the sport, so I went with the prettiest car on the track. Sorry, Junior, but you do have a pretty car.

My first year watching racing I was like any other individual who has never watched it. My second year in I only watched it when I had the day off. Which brings me to my third year.

This is the year that I really got to watch the sport, and fully began to understand that it is more than just going around in circles, or wrecking your care. This is the year that I realized that Nascar drivers are either brave, or just nuts.

At 200 mph you have to be brave, or just crazy, because the chances of wrecking a vehicle is extremely high. Week after week these men do this, and walk away. That alone should tell anyone about the sport. Racing is an intense sport, and it takes more than guts to be able to drive a vehicle at those speeds. It takes skill, determination, and yes a lot of guts.

That is where my true adventure into this sport began. No longer was Junior just a number I picked out of thin air. No longer was this just a sport where cars go around in a circle. It was an intense sport that had me on edge to see my favorite driver take the flag.

This still has not happened yet, but I keep waiting. Like many fans of the Earnhardt's, it was very exciting to see Junior take his Daddy's car to the finish line in the Daytona Nationwide race, yet it is still not the Sprint Cup.

In the end, I know that day will come, and I hope I will be there to see Junior take the checkered flag.

The more and more I get into the sport, the more I find myself watching other shows about racing, like Nascar Performance.

As I am watching this show for the first time, Chad Knaus is talking about these bolty thingy's. Again I am a girl...

As I am watching this show it suddenly dawns on me:

I do not know how to change a tire!
