Strange Things that Happen on AC

AC is a wonderful vehicle for getting your opinions out to the public. I've enjoyed writing her immensely and developed some really nice friends through this site, however I also have had some strange experiences.

The other day I think I was hit on by a lady who might be a lesbian. I have nothing against gays, don't misunderstand me, some of my friends are gay both men and woman. But it took me off guard when a young lady said she wanted a long term relationship with me of a sexual nature.

I am a happily married straight woman and have always had a preference for men when it came to that sort of thing. Believe me after being married a couple times I know what I prefer, although I have never considered the alternative for myself. I have been hit on once in a public place by a woman, but never online, so this came as sort of a surprise.

The other thing that I find strange here, is that some folks are down right rude to their fellow writer at time. If you don't like an article or find it hard to read, why would you try to put the other writer down in the comment section. Would it not be better to send them a personal message than to appear rude and a know it all?

I recently saw where a person said they could not read another persons article past the first paragraph and they were not very kind about it either. They even criticized the content. of this writer. Now if the article was inaccurate, I find that quite acceptable, but they didn't need to try and make this person feel they were ignorant in the process.

To me anyone who has a condescending attitude toward another person's writing, is either jealous or ignorant. If you truly are trying to help someone you can't do it by being rude, as they say you get more flies with honey then with vinegar. Sometime I am not very tactful in my answers in the comment sections, but I have not ever tried to be rude to any individual. When it came to politics I have voiced my opinion and how I felt in general, but nothing has been aimed at a person knowingly. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it doesn't agree with mine.

Thank God this is still a free country, with freedom of speech, but there is not any reason to be down right insulting.To tell a person they are stupid, especially when it comes to their hurting their feelings about an article they wrote, is downright rude. Hey people, if you don't like something, don't read it. If it makes you angry, explain why , and please try to do it in a polite way not cut them all to pieces.

A lot of time someone writes a piece and it doesn't come out exactly like they might have meant it. Give them the benefit of the doubt and if you feel their grammar is less than perfect, please don't embarrass yourself by being rude.

Okay, now I've had my say, if you want to cut me down then go ahead. I have big shoulders, I can take it, however not everyone can.

So please be discrete in the future as some folks get their feeling hurt easily and you just might make yourself look like a bully or worse.
