Stranger Than Fiction

Jeffrey Weeks
Watching the news at the house tonight
Man and his son got in a bad fight
He done shot his boy and his boy's mama too
Neighbors said he was like that, nothing you could do
Killed himself just as the cops started to arrive
Police chief said he heard the last shot from outside

Well it's stranger than fiction
Reality, that's right
Stranger than fiction
It happens 'bout every night
Stranger than fiction
I hear the sirens roar
It's stranger than fiction
But I don't want the truth anymore

Star that I love to watch on TV
Offset they say he liked to party
Had a Hollywood wife and a couple of kids
They couldn't keep track of all the bad things he did
God gave him talent, the drugs gave him drive
I saw his obituary on the tabloid shows tonight
Well it's stranger than fiction
Reality, that's right
Stranger than fiction
It happens every night

Stranger than fiction
I hear the sirens roar
It's stranger than fiction
But I don't want the truth anymore
Now a natural disaster they say coming this way

Mother Earth been abused now she's having her say
People fleeing and crying
Lots of losing and dying
God gave us this world, the world spinning round
One way or another it will come to our town

Well it's stranger than fiction
Reality, that's right
Stranger than fiction
It happens every night
Stranger than fiction
I hear the sirens roar
It's stranger than fiction
But I don't want the truth anymore
