On the label it says, "Strathdale organic honey is a product of Central Olago, NZ. This clean, alpine environment with an abundance of white clover, enables our bees to produce some of the purest honey in the world. The purity and natural healing properties are then carefully preserved during our cold filtering process. The Dale family proudly presents this chemical free, unique honey for your good health and enjoyment."
I was interested in learning more about the claims regarding natural healing properties, so I went to the Strathdale honey website to learn more. According to the Dale family, this honey contains enzymes that help fight infection. They take great care in how they process the honey, to help preserve these enzymes. They also ensure there are no antibiotics, pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, coloring or fat in there honey. Honey also contains antioxidants which destroy free radicals that can damage cells in your body.
According to the label this honey has 65 calories per tbsp. The only ingredient is pure honey with no additives at all. It is certified organic by a company called Bio Gro in New Zealand. To have this organic certification they are required to ensure no pesticides have been used on any land in a 5 kilometer area of hive. Secondly, they are not allowed hives to be fed any non-organic sugar, honey or antibiotics. In addition, regular samples are taken by the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure compliance.
This honey taste better than any I have tried and the price is reasonable. I also like the fact that this honey is made by a family run business that seem to take great pride in making the best organic honey in the world.
