Strawberries Ruined by Rain

Mary Rodriguez
Large amounts of rainfall in the Florida strawberry fields have caused damage to our crops. Loosing thousands of pounds in berries we have suffered much loss. Watter build up in strawberry fields can cause the berries to crack open and leave room to sudden rot.
Unfortunately we have seen the effects of much rain fall and damage. The water build up has caused flavor loss for the strawberry crop as well as production.
Will this damage be a consistent issue for our crops this year? Since strawberry season in Florida runs from December to April. We are looking for our strawberries to come to an end for this year.
We will be able to look forward to California strawberries to hit the local super markets soon.
Strawberries do not need allot of watter to produce a healthy crop. They basically need only a mist and nothing more.
Many berries can be grown in green houses to prevent water damage. Florida berries are well known for there freshness and unique sweet flavor. Good cool weather and blue skies are all the Florida strawberries need to give you a mound of firm, fresh, and sweet strawberries every winter season.
