4 to 6 cups Ice
6 Ounces Tequila
3 Ounces Triple Sec
2 Cups Strawberries (Fresh or frozen) - Can use other berries if you don't like strawberries like blackberries
Sugar
5 Ounces Sweet and Sour
Margarita glasses
2 Spare Plate
First step is to get the blender out and ready. Often, if you are making several batches of margaritas it is better to put the blender on something that is easy to wash like a plastic cutting board, since it is easy to make a bit of a mess and this will make clean up that much easier.
Add the ice to the blender first and let it blend for 30 seconds up to a minute to break up the ice first. This will make the rest of the process a lot easier as you progress since the ice is already broken up. If you have crushed ice already on hand, you can skip this step and use the crushed ice instead.
Next add the strawberries to the ice and blend for 30 seconds to a minute again. Especially if you are using frozen strawberries, this helps them break up and mix well with the ice. If the strawberries and ice are not mixing well together, add an ounce or two of the Sweet and Sour to the mix and blend.
After the strawberries and ice are blended together, add the tequila, triple sec and sweet and sour to the mix and blend until smooth. Adding the alcohol at the end makes the margaritas less watered down and have a bit more of the kick you are looking for along with the great strawberry taste.
To rim the glasses, use the spare plate and add a bit of sweet and sour mix to it. Take the margarita glass and gently drip the rim of the glass through the liquid until the whole rim is covered.
On another plate, add sugar to the plate. Take the rimmed glass with the sweet and sour and place in the sugar. This will give a nice rim of sugar. For those who want to festive, they can use red sugar to match the strawberries.
Last, take the rimmed glass and pour in the margarita mix into the glass and serve. It is best to serve quickly since the ice will start melting.
