Stress - Causes and Natural Cures

Stress is a mental state when a person is worried or tensed. This worry is caused mainly when we are unable to meet a demand. The feeling of inability causes this tension. Stress is one of the major health problems now a days. Stress has got many positive as well as negative effects. It may act like a motivation and help us achieve our goals or may become a source of worry and tension. However excessive stress is always harmful as it causes physical as well as mental health problems.

Stress arises mainly due to the following reasons: -

1. Conflicts within as well as outside the body.

2. Financial or emotional loss.

3. Excessive responsibility.

4. Loneliness.

5. over addiction of alcohol, drugs or any such harmful substances.

6. Relationship breakup.

7. Health problem.

8. Peer pressure.

9. Sudden change in lifestyle.

10. Insomnia

these causes lead to a stressful mind generating further problems. Being able to cope up with responsibilities is a major factor which creates a relaxed and healthy mind. There are some natural cures to this problem which do not require any kind of artificial drugs or medicines.

Sharing our feelings: First, we should be able to vent out our negative feelings to all those who we think are close or helpful. We should share with them our problems and experiences as it reduces the amount of stress.

Meditation: It is a method of relaxing our mind and giving peace to our mind. It refreshes our mind and body provides us internal happiness.

Avoiding excessive addiction: We should reduce the amount of consumption of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. Staying away from these things is much better for a healthy body and mind.

Believing in ourselves: We should always have faith in ourselves and never give up trying to achieve what we want. Getting upset on losing increases the amount of sadness and leads to stress. Instead we should try to cope up with the loss and work even harder.

Positive thinking: One should always think positively about every aspect of life and accept problems to be a part of life. Having a positive attitude towards everything contributes in making a mind free of stress.

Deep breathing: Taking deep breathes helps us get rid of feelings like anxiety, fear, anger and worry. Take fresh air while inhaling and give out all your worries while exhaling.

Herbal medicines: Some ayurvedic herbs reduce the amount of stress we have. The leaves of basil work as anti-stress agents and one can chew them in the morning or afternoon.

RELAXATION of mind and body is important to keep one stress-free. Some relaxation exercises are:-

Visualizing a beautiful scenery

Taking a break from daily routine

Hanging out with friends or family.

All these tips help one to create a mind free of stress. But one has to cope up with his responsibilities and try to remain calm while every aspect of life if he/she has to live a happy and stress-free life.
