Todd Hicks
Are you stressed out at home, on the job or in your relationships? If so, you need to learn how to cope with your anxiety. You will learn coping mechanisms to use when dealing with stress.

Laugh. This is a great way to ease tension and feel better.

If you are a perfectionist who cannot accept anything less than being perfect, you must break out of this. Keep in mind you are only human.

If you are feeling down, look for a way out. It helps to think about something that makes you happy.

How about getting a friend or relative in on the act? Calling one should make you feel better - just be sure to not complain about your problems.

If you feel too much pressure, try to get a handle on the situation. Relaxing will help you.

Breathe. It helps to breathe in and out for a few seconds.

Take a break. You can reduce the stress that can come from working by resting.

Think positively. Having positive thoughts can help take your mind off your troubles.

If you have self-doubt, you must try to raise your confidence level. It helps to believe in yourself.

Ask for help when you are confused. The longer you try to figure out something on your own, the more frustrated you are likely to become.

Try to gain perspective. It helps to convince yourself that your problems could be worse and that others have bigger problems.

You must control your anger. Do not let little things rile you. Do not be impulsive.

Think about your achievements. This will help prevent you from feeling like a failure.

Take a walk or jog. Exercise is a great way to relieve your stress.

If you want to cry, go ahead. It does no good to keep your emotions bottled up.

If you are at work, talk with your peers. They might experience some of your troubles.

Think about your health. Keep in mind it is not healthy to maintain too much stress.

Try to have fun. If it is a hassle to do something the way you are doing it, you could benefit from using another method.

If you have trouble in a relationship, try to eliminate it. Try to work things out with the other person.

Try not to find fault with yourself or others. Assigning blame will not make you happier.

Forgive others. Dwelling on what they have done to you can cause tension.

Use these coping mechanisms to fight your stress!
