Doctors know that the central nervous system and the immune can influence one another during stress. Short term positive stress can be invigorating by responding positively to challenges and opportunities. Short term negative stress can save our lives by making us flee danger. Our brain releases hormones that causes our heart to beat faster.

Long term stress, is when your hormones keep releasing and your body does not have time to make repaisr. This stress creates health problems.

Stress increases hormone levels of adrenaline and cortical, the two kinds of stress hormones. The cortical hormone can shut down your immune system, making you more susceptible to diseases like colds and flu. It can also cause heart rhythm irregularities, high blood pressure and stroke.

Some steps to help you with stress;

Talk About What Is Stressing You; Just talk to friends and family about what is bothering you. If that does not work then find a good therapist or counselor.

Exercise; Exercise or any activity can help bring down your stress level and release tension. For example things like weight lifting, running, walking, painting or building something. Any thing to keep off your stress.

Know Your Limits; Know what your limits are in a stressful situation so you do not loose control, just walk away so you can calm down. Then deal with it.

Sleep And Eat Right; Get plenty of sleep and eat a healthy diet. If you feel tense from not sleeping or eating right you will not be able to deal with your stress.

Take Time To Relax; Take a break and do something you like to do so you can just relax.

Live Life; Helping others will you deal with your stress, just volunteer in your community.

Be Cooperative; If things do not go right. Just a little give and take will help you with your stress.

Crying; Crying is a healthy way to relieve tension.

Avoid Self Medication; Over the counter medication will only relieve stress for a short time but the conditions cause the stress are still there. The medication maybe habit forming and complicate matters.

Relaxation will release endorphins brain chemicals that give you a feeling of well being. Relaxation will help will help to relieve the tension. Some techniques to help you relax is muscle relaxation and deep breathing, can help to bring your stress levels down.

If your severe or long term stress. Seek help as so as possible before you start having health problems.
