Simple Stress Management You Can Do Anywhere Anytime

Kent Hadley
Just take a deep breath and relax. It Would be nice if it was that easy but today in our multi tasking world we need a better strategy. Stress does not come all at one time but rather it builds until we are stressed out. By managing your stress in small doses you won't allow it to stress you out.

Following are a few strategies you can use anytime anywhere to help manage stress.

Maintain good posture.

This may sound silly but it works. Every couple of hours or so check you posture. Make certain you are sitting with your back straight and feet flat on the floor. If standing do the same.

Escape to the outdoors.

How do you do this? Take a picture of your favorite place and put it on your computer or cell phone. Spend a few minutes looking at the picture.

Rate the crisis

During the day you will have anxiety peaks. Before you react to them give it a number from one to ten. One being not so bad and ten being the worse disaster, you can think of.

Sing a Song

Unless you are in a private corner office, you might want to do the singing to yourself. Pick a favorite song, poem, or, like me a Bible verse which calms you.

Laugh

Don't wait for something funny to happen plan for it. The internet has several joke sights where you will receive a joke a day in your e-mail. Subscribe to your favorite cartoon online or tell your self a knock knock joke but put a laugh a day into your schedule.

Exercise

you can exercise even when sitting behind a desk or standing at a counter. Try this one. Pretend you have a rubber ball between your knees and you want to get it down to your ankles without dropping it. Then try and bring the ball back up to your knees.

Take a deep breath

Not just one breath but ten. Close your eyes and take ten deep slow breaths.

There is no guarantee that you will live stress free by following these seven simple steps. However, you will be on your way to managing your stress.
