Stress Relief Through Crystal and Color Therapy

Yvonne M. Glasgow, Ph.D.
Crystals have vibrations that run through them that speak to our bodies and our souls. These vibrations can help calm our nerves, fight infections and more. The colors of crystals also help us, but we will talk about that later. Crystals can work with our Chakras, six points on our body where spiritual energy flows in and out. Colors also effect the Chakras, which you can learn more about with a little bit of research on your own.

Some crystals that are good for use in stress relief are Amethyst (which is best worn as jewelry or placed as points in your room), Azurite (which is best worn as a bracelet on your right wrist, or a ring on your right hand), Magnesite (which is best used with direct skin contact), and Obsidian and Onyx (which are both best worn on left side of the body). When crystals touch your body they send their vibrations into it to help cleanse out the impurities, they can also pull out negativity. Some people even make tinctures to drink by soaking the crystals in water over night, though some crystals can poison water, so this must only be done with help of a professional or after much research. Color is important also when it comes by this form of therapy.

Color therapy is an interesting thing. Color works best with your mood, which makes it a perfect therapy for use in stress relief. Crystals can be used along with color therapy and this therapy can also work just by wearing the right shade of color of clothing or painting a wall in your room a certain color. Magenta is a color that uplifts the spirit. Paint a focus wall in your room magenta to help give you a bright place to meditate away your stress each day. Orange is motivating and stress relieving.

Wear something orange to brighten your day, keep you in a positive mood. And to uplift the spirits of the people around you too. Blue is calming and will help you to relax. Paint your bathroom blue and take a luxurious bubble bath while staring into the calming essence of this color. Learn more about the use of color therapy on your own and find out the right colors to decorate your home and life with to bring out the best in yourself and your mood.
