Stretch Marks Can Be Beautiful Too

When a woman becomes pregnant, she undergoes the most amazing changes in her body. From the moment the baby is conceived, things start to change slowly at the first month, then gradually as it grows. Changes in body weight and proportion are most noticeable, along with those red to purple marks in the skin. These marks, known as stretch marks, appear once your skin has become stretched. It commonly appears in the buttocks, stomach, thighs, breasts, and arms. All women are prone to this, and ninety percent are bound to get them sooner or later, depending on their skin type and their prevention techniques.

If you have developed stretch marks, you might be searching already for lotions and creams that will get rid of it or probably lessen it. A lot of products in the market today such as serum, maderma, and cocoa butter, prove that they are able to get rid of those unwanted marks. If you have difficulty deciding what to use, you can always ask your doctor. He or she knows what is best for you. Once you have bought one, you have to remember that it will not work overnight. You'll have to be patient enough. If you stop doing it before it can produce results, then nothing will happen to your stretch marks.

You can also choose to do it naturally-by keeping your skin moist throughout the day. Eating healthy foods and staying in shape will also help. It will help you avoid excess weight and fat. If you are twenty-five to thirty-five years old, your weight gain should not exceed twenty-five to thirty-five pounds. Drink plenty of water, since keeping your body hydrated will keep your skin healthy, therefore keeping stretch marks to the minimum. Once your skin dries out, stretch marks will begin to form.

If you have given birth more than once, you are more prone to develop stretch marks. Since your skin has already been stretched, stretch marks are bound to develop. Also, if your baby is huge, your chances increase too. To lessen your chances, apply preventive creams with vitamins A and E as soon as you find out about your pregnancy.

After you have given birth, stretch marks may remain, but these will eventually fade. If you really want to remove them, you can go to a doctor for a tummy tuck or laser removal. Never rush to have them surgically removed, as you may find out later that you can actually bear to live with it.

Aside from eating healthy foods, there's not really much we can do to it to entirely prevent stretch marks. But it does not mean that we have to leave it as it is and never try to prevent them. Take comfort in the fact that there are other women out there who have the same marks as yours; probably even worse. Do not feel ashamed of it, because it represents your journey of being a mother and most importantly, it represents your child.
