Strippers Earning Big Money in N.Dak. Oil Boomtown

Way up north, on the North Dakota Prairie, a booming oil business has recently emerged, bringing thousands of job opportunities to the area, including strippers.

According to CNN Money, strippers are discovering that they can earn as much as $2000 a night dancing in one of Williston, N. Dak's two strip clubs, about ten times more then in Las Vegas, "The Stripper Capital of the Universe". The money is phenomenal, but the competition is stiff, according to one of the club's co-owners. "If they don't work out, they don't get to come back", she said.

Just as thousands of applications are coming in from men looking for an opportunity to work in the oil fields of Western, N. Dak., so are the applications from exotic dancers in places like Hawaii, Alaska, Germany, and Las Vegas.

One stripper reported that she can make as much in one night working in a Williston strip club as she did working an entire week in Las Vegas, thanks to the thousands of men who came here and landed high-paying jobs.

Many of the men that have moved to Williston came without their families and are out seeking a little company and entertainment after putting in some long, hard days in the oilfield. They're ready to do some drinking and some playing, which is where the strippers job comes into "play".

With North Dakota becoming one of the largest producers of crude oil in America, business is now booming and oil workers are flocking to the Dakota Prairie for jobs. An economic picture has emerged unlike any other in America.

Jobs are plentiful, and the pay is good for workers not only in the oilfield, but also in the restaurant business, retailing, healthcare, and "yes" even strippers. A huge oilfield, that once sat idle for years has now created an environment that was totally unexpected less then a decade ago, in the State of North Dakota.
