Stuck

Hate

Darcey Moyer
Stuck here in a place I hate
Can't even walk down the street without stares
Of people who don't like the way I dress
Who I believe in
Where I'm from
You think I'm worse than you
Because you can see my skin?
Why the hate?
Your women wear skintight clothes
But it's okay because no skin shows
Where's the logic?
Oh, wait...
It's your religion
Or your interpretation of it
So you can have power
Be in control.
And I'm stuck here
Not of my own free will
Because I signed a contract
To serve my country
So we can have the freedoms
That you don't allow.
