Student Expelled for Wearing Mini-Dress: Geisy Arruda Photos and Videos

Case of Brazilian Student Being Expelled for Mini-Dress is YouTube Hit

In a story that is drawing considerable attention for what seems to be an excessive reaction to something that would only draw a second glance in the United States, Geisy Arruda, a student who wore a pink mini-dress to her private University and was expelled for it, is quickly becoming a worldwide celebrity as her photos and videos circulate. It seems that Geisy Arruda wore a pink min-dress to Bandeirante Unitversity ouside Sao Paulo, Brazil, and caused such an uproar with her attire that it nearly caused a riot and police had to be called in to escort her from the premises. The video of her being led away is now all over the internet, as are photos of her in pink mini-dress. But being escorted from the university by police was not the end of it -- Geisy Arruda was also expelled from the university for immorality, that she had disrespected "ethical principles, academic dignity and morality."

There were also advertisements in the newspaper that stated Geisy Arruda wore "inadequate clothing" that was "incompatible with the university environment." It is reported that she posed for photos, acted provocatively, and engaged other students who were heckling and insulting her. In fairness to the University, students recognized in the videos as hecklers were also reportedly expelled from the school. Bandeirante University did not disclose the extent of the disciplinary measures.

Bandeirante University also maintains that they spoke with Geisy Arruda several times to alter her mode of dress. Instead, she kept showing up to class dressed provocatively. The incident caught on video on October 22, the school maintained, was just the end result of a series of cascading events.

However, Geisy Arruda believes the entire situation unfair. "I was the victim," she said. "How can I be expelled? It's absurd."

Private schools as well as public institutions usually maintain certain dress and conduct codes, some more strict than others. Bandeirante University is a private institution.

But Geisy Arruda did not go as far as one Chinese student who got expelled from a college in Singapore in October. The female college student participated in a topless car wash as part of a car company's promotion and was subsequently expelled for it. She was paid $1,400 for her "work." However, she maintains she was "hoodwinked" into participating in the event, according to the China National News, which required her to wear only a bikini bottom.

    1. People effectively tried to gang-rape her
    2. About 700 classmates called her "whore"
    3. Nobody else was expelled
    4. She was wearing a long-sleeve dress, but, anyway, even if she was wearing a bikini, no woman deserves to be raped. These guys are rapists and deserve to be jailed, not only expelled.
