I attended this community college for two years before transferring to UNC Charlotte. Wake Technical Community College is located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Admissions: Getting in to this school is easy. If you have done college course work before it is even easier. There is no application fee. If you are a freshman, you have to take the SAT or ACT. Forward all transcripts if you previously went to college.

Academics: As a community college they do not offer anything higher than a two year degree (Associates degree) and certificates. They offer continuing education, curriculum education, distance education, and evening division. There are plenty of courses and sections, so if you are on a timetable to finish school you will.

Advising: There are great advisors. They are glad to help in anyway possible. Advising is pretty speedy and accurate. There is a very knowledgeable staff.

Tuition: Tuition is low. Currently for in-state tuition is $632/ term and $39.50/credit hour. Fees consist of Student Administration Fee
$10.00 per term Campus Access Fee - for registrations at Main, Health, Western Wake, or North Campuses. $5.00 per term Computer Use/Technology Fee $1.00 per credit hour per term ($16.00 maximum) Professional Liability Insurance Health Sciences Students $6.00 per term
Graduation Fee Diploma/Degree Student $35.00

Financial Aid: They are willing to help you in all aspects of the financial aid. There are many scholarships and they post all around campus.

Instructors: They are down to earth as well as challenging, they really prepare you for the University level courses. They are very caring and approachable.

Bookstore: It is the same as every other bookstore, high buy prices but low buyback.

Housing: Sorry, there is no housing. There is housing in the surrounding area.

Food: High priced and too greasy but nice staff

Parking: Plenty of parking on campus and at a low fee (least than $10). During the fall it is extremely packed.

No car No problem: The campus provides a shuttle from downtown Raleigh to campus. One problem is it is always overcrowded.

Library: Very spacious library, equipped with computers, newspapers, and video area. Staff on hand to help you.

Organizations: There is a host of club such as Amateur Radio Club,Culinary Club, Economics, Student Government and History club.

Student Services: Disability, Academic and Career Counseling, ESL, Veteran, Career Center and tutoring.

Pros: Low cost, caring staff, shuttle and great academic preparation

Cons: College is far away so what money save goes towards gas. Car theft. Overcrowding on shuttle. School is very far away.
