CEA - Cultural Experiences Abroad
This program offers summer study abroad options in Rome and Florence for students of any language level - so you don't need to know Italian to go! You can earn up to six credits and choose from classes in Liberal Arts and Clutural Studies, Studio Art, or Italian Language Studies. In Florence, courses are held at Santa Reparata Internal School of Art and The Institute at Palazzo Rucellai. In Rome, classes are held at John Cabot University. Academic Programs International
The API program offers study abroad options in Rome, Florence and Sicily. All classes are taught in English and offer for-credit options. All three locations offer An official U.S. university accredited transcript; tuition; housing; cultural excursions; medical and life insurance (including medical evacuation and repatriation); pre-departure orientation; airport reception; online services; on-site orientation; mobile phone and tutoring. You can choose from a variety of classes, such as Architecture, Italian Langue, Literature and Studies, Drama and Philosophy. In Florence, courses are held in three possible locations: the Florence University of the Arts, the Lorenzo de'Medici School, or at Apicius - the Culinary Institute of Florence. In Rome, classes are held at John Cabot University. API students choosing the Sicily options will study in Syracuse at the Mediterranean Center for Arts and Sciences, which is one of Italy's oldest towns. Academy of Italian Language in Rome
If you are looking for a summer-intensive language course, this option may be for you. Interactive language immersion courses will get you speaking comfortably with the locals in Rome in no time. You will study current culture, history, literature and social and economic issues; in addition, you will stay with a host family who will further assist your language learning. You will visit museums and places of historical interest, go to sporting events and social activities and attend lecutres on Italian culture, art and cooking. The cost of attendance includes tuition, accomodations, medical insurance and more. This program is unique in that it offers study for all ages - from high school students to senior citizens. In addition to studying in Rome, you can also choose similar programs in Milan, Venice and Florence.
