A recent study by the World Chiropractic Council on Women's Health finds that in some cases, chiropractic care is responsible for helping previously infertile women to become pregnant without fertility treatments or invasive procedures. Published by Dr. Madeline Behrendt, chairwomen of the council, the study could make landmark improvements in the way fertility treatments are administered to women all over the world.

How Chiropractic Study Was Performed

The entire study consisted of a total of 15 women who had been previously deemed infertile due to various complications including traumatic injury. Of the 15 women, 14 of them actually did become pregnant during the course of the chiropractic treatments and the only women who did not succeed pregnancy was a 65 year old women who had stopped menstruating more than 40 years prior!

Each of the women endured chiropractic adjustments, chiropractic care and treatments from a certified chiropractor. Over the course of the study, many of the previously infertile women would begin menstruating again on a regular cycle and then later become pregnant-this proved that chiropractic care is definitely a means of relieving central nervous system damage that is sometimes the cause of infertility in women.

Landmark Study for Chiropractic Care

This study can be considered a landmark study for the chiropractic world. Not only does it define the profession, it also puts chiropractors on the map for providing lasting care that truly means something. For many years, chiropractic care has been considered an alternative medicine or alternative treatment to traditional medical care or homeopathic care. The induction of this study into medical journals will help chiropractors make a name for themselves-and for the chiropractic profession.

Increasing fertility and the likelihood of a woman becoming pregnant despite unsuccessful fertility treatments is truly a miracle in itself. For many women, the idea of going to a chiropractor for spinal manipulation, subluxation, or any other chiropractic adjustment proves far less invasive than the treatment methods that may have previously been endured at fertility clinics. The final result-Pregnancy!
