Stupidest Celebrity Crimes

We all know celebrities get away with a lot - but they don't get away with everything. Here are some of the funniest, stupidest and most ridiculous celebrity crimes ever.

1. R. Kelly
Not only did R. Kelly have sex with a minor, but he also videotaped it. In June of 2006, he was arrested and charged with 21 counts of child pornography for the videotape.

2. Hugh Grant
Yet another sexual crime... Hugh Grant was arrested in June of 1995 after cops found him in the car with a prostitute getting a blow job. What makes this one stupid is Hugh was dating Elizabeth Hurley at the time - a drop dead gorgeous girlfriend, and you pick up a mediocre prostitute?

3. O.J. Simpson
This stupid crime isn't related to the death of his wife. In September of 2007, O.J. was arrested for armed robbery when he busted into a hotel room of a memorabilia dealer with a gun and stole several valuable items he claimed belonged to him.

4. Ozzy Osbourne
In February of 2002, Osbourne was arrested for urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph (a stone monument honoring the Alamo defenders) in San Antonio, Texas. He was wearing his wife's dress at the time. City Council members were already upset about broken windows at the HemisFair Arena (where he performed in town), and when he bragged about his arrest, they were infuriated. The incident resulted in a 20-year ban from the city.

5. Tatum O'Neal

In June of 2008, O'Neal was busted by NYPD buying crack and coke off the streets. Not exactly how you'd expect a mom to act...

6. Mel Gibson
It wasn't just the DUI that earned Mel a 'stupid crime' spot. That IS stupid in itself - celebrities make an insane amount of money - surely they can afford a cab! What happened during the arrest in July of 2006 makes it far worse. When asked to get into the police car, the police report indicated that Gibson started an anti-semitic tirade, blaming Jews for all the problems in the world.

7. Winona Ryder
In December of 2001, Winona was arrested for grand theft after walking out of Sak's with $4,760 worth of merchandise she didn't pay for. The security tapes show her ripping the tags off clothing and bags before stuffing all of it into a bag and walking off. Not what you would expect from a multi-million dollar Oscar-nominated actress.

8. Bai Ling
You'd think with all her money, Bai Ling could pay for 2 celebrity magazines and 2 packs of batteries. Alas, Ling just picked them up and walked off in February of 2008 without paying, resulting in a shoplifting charge. At least Winona stole something with real value.

9. Kid Rock
In October of 2007, Kid Rock got into a fight at a Waffle House over a female member of his entourage.

10. Shia LaBeouf
You wouldn't expect someone like Shia to be hanging out at a Walgreens, but apparently he likes it so much he doesn't like to leave... even when asked repeatedly - by security. In November of 2007, Shia was charged with misdemeanor trespassing.

Whitney Houston
In Januaray of 2000, Houston was busted with 2 bags of marijuana and 3 partially-smoked joints in her airline-checked luggage.

Boy George
George was arrested for kidnap, false imprisonment and threat of torture of a male escort in April of 2007. George handcuffed the man to a hook on the bed and threatened him with sex toys. The escort escaped only after breaking the hook off the bed.

George was arrested for a lewd act in a public restroom in Hollywood Hills. The arrest prompted Michael to finally admit he is gay.

Christian Slater
Double whammy! His first stupid crime was in 1989, when he led cops on a chase, ran into a telephone pole and then kicked a police officer. The second stupid crime was sexual assault - for grabbing a female's bottom in public.
