Style Your Bangs with These Foolproof Tips

Thick, choppy bangs are among the top hair trends of the season but you can also get away with lighter bangs that are either swept to the side or pinned back to add volume to the top of your head. Whatever style of bangs you're sporting this season, keep in mind that there are several different looks you can play with - you don't have to wear them straight down all season long. A few simple styling tools and hair products can help you create some fresh new looks.

Use these foolproof tips to style your bangs:

  1. Pull bangs back with a headband. Show off that beautiful face by tucking bangs back with a wide headband. Pull all of the hair back and secure bangs in place to create a sleek and chic look. This is an easy style to pull off when you want to keep bangs out of your face or want an entirely new look for the day.
  2. Do the deep part. Part your hair on the side of your head instead of the middle and use a shine serum to "lock" the strands in place. Pull your bangs in the same direction as the part to create a very smooth and sculpted look. The deep side part can draw more attention to your eyes and is fairly easy to create with or without bangs.
  3. Clip bangs to the side. Another great way to keep bangs out of your face is by clipping them to the side. You can use bobby pins that are easy to hide in your hair, or go with a more eye-catching clip that complements your outfit. Use a styling mousse to smooth out bangs and make them easier to work with before you secure the hair in place.
  4. Curl them! Go for a classic look by curling the bangs forward as you dry. Use a heat protectant spray on your bangs so you can get that blow dryer as close to the hair as possible. A large barreled brush is perfect for creating the ideal curl. Keep that curl with a spritz of hairspray.
  5. Try an angled part. If you have enough hair to part your bangs down the middle, try an angled part instead and part some of the rest of your hair near the top of your head the same way. This is similar to a deep part except you are only parting about half of the hair on top of your head to one side. Use a styling mousse or gel to create a sleek and shiny finish.
