Paint can transform a boring wooden headboard into a new stylish piece in no time. The first step is to sand the wooden headboard, to remove any gloss and to create a nice smooth surface. After sanding, dust away any loose particles. Next, apply a coat of water based primer. Let the primer dry thoroughly.
Use an interior paint with a satin finish for your base coat (any color you choose). Apply the base color paint to the headboard with a paint brush. Let the paint dry and apply another coat if needed. To decorate your headboard, acrylic craft paints and stencils are great for painting on designs.
