Su Ellen’s Floral Company in Cape Coral Has Exceeded Expectations for Twenty Years

My in-laws live in Cape Coral, Florida and any time we need to buy flower arrangements for them, we always call Su Ellen Floral Company. My husband did so before we were married and since we've been married we have continued to buy them from Su Ellen. Recently, we bought what may be the last flower arrangement we buy for my mother-in-law and we're not sure she will even see it.

We visited my mother-in-law three days before she died because we were told she was not doing very well and not likely to live long. We found her semi-conscious; eating little, unaware of our being there to visit and tell her she was loved.

Near to tears at the sudden turn for the worse from our previous visit a couple weeks prior, we explained her situation to Su Ellen and asked her to make us a Christmas tree, with my mother-in-law's favorite color, pink. I looked around the shop extensively decorated for Christmas for angels but wasn't able to find them, but then I found two matching doves and asked that they be used on the tree.

In her display case, the Su Ellen Floral Company had several trees--one artificial stood on the counter, and two made from pruned branches as floral arrangements that last a long time. We chose to use live box branches.

The cost for the standard tree was $70 and was rather average looking, so I asked her if she could use fresh flowers and she said, "Yes, all the flowers they put in an arrangement were attached to a container with foam so would last well."

I told Su Ellen, "Use orchids and carnations".

Su Ellen said, "White orchids and red carnations?"

And I said, "No, pink".

She asked, "Do you want roses? I have pink roses I could put at the top where they'd be seen" and I said "Yes".

Su Ellen asked, "Gold?" I nodded.

"And of course lighted?"

I said, "Yes."

The cost for the flower arrangement at Su Ellen's Floral Company changed to $100 and was delivered that day by 5pm. Su Ellen created us an amazing tree (see the photograph).
