Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Shampoo - a Review

Vincent Summers
Foods and other products are best made without certain ingredients-or so nutritionists, doctors, and other scientists tell us. One ingredient kept out of most foods considered nutritionally sound is saturated fat. Among the saturated fats and oils is coconut oil that has been hydrogenated.

Coconut

Does coconut, then, have no useful purpose? It certainly does find many applications, one of which involves its delicious aroma. It imparts this wonderful quality to SuaveĀ® naturals "tropical coconut" shampoo. The pleasant aroma is out of place for neither male nor female.

Packaging

Suave comes in a convenient soft plastic bottle with cap that is stable on the edge of a bathtub, and won't rust or damage an enamel or fiberglass surface. The shape of the bottle is not peculiar, as if to hide how much one gets for his money, nor is it unstable, or designed to impress.

Performance

It is a very cost-effective product, and it actually does a fantastic job of cleaning hair. It does not require a second application, and it doesn't take an excessive amount to accomplish the job of cleaning and leaving hair manageable. Neither does it leave hair oily, as if it was never cleaned. Although one could apply a conditioner afterward, I found it unnecessary to do so.

Hype Unnecessary

In these days of trendy products and catchy names-most of which either mean nothing or mislead-it is refreshing to use an unpretentious product that actually does what it was designed to do-to clean hair, leaving it manageable, and with a slight, but pleasant, aroma. Finally, it doesn't require constant advertising by an anorexic super-model to demonstrate and sell a really useful product. Suave naturals tropical coconut shampoo sells itself.

Thumbs up, Suave!

I use a handful of different types of conditioners and shampoos. One of my most recent additions is Suave's Almond and Shea. It's wonderful! I do love coconut though, so I might have to try this one. Thanks for sharing, Vince!

I use this shampoo sometimes when I feel like having that beachy, coconut smell on my hair. It costs just over a dollar and gives the mood a pleasant lift.

I used to use this scent. I like to change it up, but this by far as been my favorite!

Great review! I like to switch the different brands of shampoo I use every once in a while and do use Suave once in a while.

Great stuff. My daughter uses Suave products and has long hair like the photo there. I think I will get her this one next time.

That doesn't look like your hair in that photo to me. ;) Great review. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job, Vincent. You surprised me - I was expecting a more "scientific" approach to shampoo! :-) I like Suave too. A sylist told me years ago that of all the less expensive brands on the market, Suave is the best.
