Which charities are participating in the Share the Love event?

National Wildlife Federation - nwf.org
ASPCA - aspca.org
Meals on Wheels Association of America -mowaa.org
Habitat for Humanity - habitat.org
How to select the charity you wish to receive a donation.
There are three different ways to make this donation. You can go to Subaru website or click the link posted here www.Subaru.com/share. You can call the number 1-800-WANT-AWD or you can fill out the self addressed, prepaid envelope provided by your dealer. You will be asked to provide your name, contact information, Vehicle Identification Number and charity selection. Subaru will then make the donation in your name. You can also, click the link above to find out more information on the five participating charities. If you buy or lease a Subaru and you decide not to fill out the charity information. The $250 dollars will be evenly split between the five charities and your name will not be attached to the donation. You can also split the charities yourself but do remember that only $250 dollars per vehicle bought or leased will be allocated.
How long do I have to make the charity selection?
You will be encouraged to make the charity selection at the dealership but if you do not donation selection will be accepted until January 31, 2010.
After the donation is made.
You will receive a 'thank you' letter from Subaru and the five charities once all of the submissions have been processed. Customers who do not make their charity selection will receive a letter from Subaru thanking you for your purchase and letting you know that your donation has been evenly split between the five charities of the Share the Love campaign. Subaru will make the donation to each charity by March 1, 2010. Last year Subaru donated $4.7 million and is hoping this year does even better to reach over $5 million during the Share the Love Event.
Do you get a tax credit for this donation?
Due to the agreement between Subaru and the different charities of the Share the Love donations are not tax-deductible. If the car is bought before December 30th you will receive a tax deduction on the new car sale. This program may or may not be extended.
