MISSING CHILDREN

May 25th is known as National Missing Children's Day. Three tragedies brought this day into the light to educate and put efforts in place about missing children.

It irks me to see a television line-up dedicated to mindless people doing dumb things, when we have thousands of children missing. Why has no major network stepped up and ran with this idea?

A technology company called SecuraTrac, LLC created a free service called SecuraChild to help find missing children through social media.

We have enough programs on television that tickle the ears. With the alarming number of missing children, why has not one cable company or television conglomerate come up with help for the families?

YouTube has a new channel created exclusively for posting videos of missing children. The channel was created in partnership with the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children and The Find Madeleine Campaign.

Missing children can be endangered runaways, abducted by family and nonfamily, lost or injured. As parents there are many things we can do now, to help keep our kids safe.

With the help of the Amber Alert GPS System your child will never go missing again.

These are words that no parent wants to hear, however many have. The Amber Alert provides quick assistance for children thought to have been abducted, or in serious harm or danger.

It's time for the parents of abducted children to be held accountable. Raising a child comes with myriad responsibilities. Therefore, in this age of the Amber Alert, we must ask the question: what happened to proactive parenting?

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Louisiana Department of Social Services are still working to locate 174 foster children from New Orleans who remain unaccounted for since Hurricane Katrina struck.

Since the onset of the Amber Alert system police are able to get information concerning the missing child out to the citizens quickly in hopes of finding the child soon.

Children in America runaway from home for different reasons. Parents and guardians need to know how to effectively prevent kids from deciding to leave home. Emphasis should be placed on sincere love and care of teenagers as they mature into adulthood.
