A rare snowstorm drops over 10 inches of snow in Northwest Arkansas. The slideshow is from Centerton, a small town near Walmart Headquarters in Northwest Arkansas.

Eureka Springs was built in 1879 and quickly grew to become the fourth largest city in Arkansas, due to the many springs. It has many B&Bs and other restored old homes and is a popular wedding location.

Recently my family and I went to Mountain View, Arkansas and spent some time at the Loco Rope course. The girls (my daughter, mother-in-law, and I) weren't gutsy enough to try the course but the boys were!

Iron Springs is 26 miles north of Hot Springs,AR on Scenic 7 Byway.Iron Springs is said to hold magical healing powers.Visitors enjoy wading in the cool clear water.If you pass through Arkansas,this is a must see!

Snow blankets Northwest Arkansas this morning. Residents in Northwest Benton County are expecting more than a foot of snow. As of 6:17am, 10 inches of snow had fallen. Snow is expected to fall unitl late afternoon.

Arkansas is home to more than 600,000 acres of lakes that produce some of the best bass fishing in the United States. Arkansas lakes have produced several world record bass over the years, two of which still stand today.

On New Year's Eve 2010, an early morning tornado struck the small town of Cincinnati, Arkansas and the surrounding areas.

Historic Van Winkle Trail at Hobbs State Park in Arkansas showcases the remains of Peter Van Winkles home and mill. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Old Spanish Treasure Cave, located in Gravette Arkansas, is a large limestone cave with a unique history. There is gold buried somewhere beneath the formations.

This is wonderful historical shotgun house that was on display at a Living History open area of Mountain Home, Arkansas. It is free for the public to go to and the have Civil War demonstrations for the public to enjoy.

Here are a few pictures of Gee and Dee's house, the starting point of your crystal digging adventure. Located just north of Mount Ida Arkansas, this older couple greets you with warmth and takes you right to the good stuff in the mine!

Bentonville, Arkansas, fourth of July fireworks lit the sky Saturday night despite lightening in the clouds. People poured in from miles around to see Bentonville's explosive firework display.

Our family pictures from May, 2008 and our trip to Mount Ida, Arkansas for crystal digging. Includes images of our rented RV camper, digging site, and crystal finds.

Our vacation in May 2008 took us to Mount Ida Arkansas and further south the the only open to the public diamond mine. We found a diamond, but I thought it was glass, and threw it away.

Houses and streets in Centerton Arkansas are covered in a 2 inch glaze of sleet and ice. The storm started Monday night and continues through Tuesday evening.

Spring in the downtown and National Park area of Hot Springs, Arkansas

A few snapshots I took around downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas, during my weekend trip in the Spring of 2007. Most of them were taken along the popular Bath House Row.

The first big snow in southwestern Arkansas in years and it's more than made up for it's tardiness!

After the icy blow taken by Arkansas, many residences and businesses are left without power - some of which may be out for as long as three weeks. Many roadways are blocked due to fallen trees and power lines.
