These photos illustrate a 3-day backpacking trip taken in late August 2008 in Colorado's Indian Peaks Wilderness. The 27-mile loop within a wonderfully maintained trail network offers access to spectacular scenery and distinct ecosystems.

We decided to go west for our Labor Day Vacation this year. We went from Colorado Springs to Four Corners and came back through the San Juan Mountains.

This herd of elk in Estes Park, Colorado let us approach them. I walked toward the bull and shot a picture. I waited for him to run away, stepped closer yet and shot again. Over and over. He never moved.

A Fall trip through the Colorado Rocky Mountains

During the week of the Democratic National Convention, Shepard Fairey's work could be seen throughout the streets of Denver, Colorado.
