Games sets used to entertain soldiers during the Civil War. They include chess, playing cards, and dominoes. All are on display at the Gettysburg Museum in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Kansas City Renaisance Fair is overrun with pirates, rogues, scoundrels, even a fey creature or two. There were sword fights, duels, human chess, even a proposal.

The Tennessee Renaissance Festival runs the first four weekends in May and Memorial Day in 2009 featuring jousting, live chess and more Renaissance activities.
