Good Friday, April 22, 2011, brought massive storms to the Midwest, devastating multiple areas of St. Louis and surrounding cities. Though my house was untouched, several places just down the street from my home in North St. Louis were hit hard.

Here are a few pictures, taken on Christmas day 2010, in my home town, and at my house, moments in time, love these.

This sweet dino ride parks two blocks from my house. Still no sign of T-Rex or raptors, but it's only a matter of time! Where's Sam Neil or Jeff Goldblum when you need em?

When I moved back from New York 35 years ago, I lived in the servants' cottage at the end of the block from my parents' house. Mile & wine crinums bloomed at the back door. They have bloomed in my heart ever since.

This House Plant was bought at my MOM's neighbors estate sale and No one seems to know the name of the plant! I have even done a search on the Internet but have come up with nothing! Does Anyone know this Plant??

I bought my house in 2001 and was thrilled when I stepped into the backyard and discovered the beautiful landscape. I really loved the Japanese Maples growing there along with the other various trees, roses, bushes, vines and flowering plants.

Walking from my house, I look up to see this staring down at me!

Here is a slideshow of my huge collection of houseplants, most of which are placed in the living room. Some are exotic, while others are common. These house plants are very healthy and thrive under my care.

eager to fill my free time with something meaningful, I decided to make a gingerbread house (for what could be more meaningful than that?) Unfortunately, my endeavor ended in tragedy and subsequent hours of cleanup and regret.

Rattle Snakes are Native to Mississippi but this is the first one I have ever seen, not in a zoo.

Corn Snakes are non-poisonous and often sold as pets.

I happened to meet these three cats near my house. Since they didn't bother to introduce themselves, I called them Black Cat, White Cat and Grey Cat.

I saw a tornado form over my house on June 9, 2009. It formed between the Good Samaritan Hospital and Lamont Does City Park.

Every year my family and I make a Gingerbread House a day or two before Christmas. This year there was much discussion about the icy sidewalks outside and we ended up getting a bit silly and made a Grinch-like character.
