Hello, my name is James Gilligan, Im a 31yr photographer; and US Marine combat veteran of Iraq 2003 & Afghanistan 2004 (99-05). Loc. currently in Los Angeles, where Im a resident at the Hollywood VOA/ veterans of OIF/OEF clinic for vets like me with PTSD. I am truly blessed to have a chance to work on my life, and work harder at retraining myself for my 2nd career as a Photographer.

Andrew Lubin's spent much of the past five years embedded in Haiti, Afghanistan, and Iraq, or wherever one finds our Marines and soldiers. From Ramadi, Fallujah, Garmsir, or north of the Khyber Pass, he's out in the field with our 0311's and 0811's. Wherever America has Marines and soldiers in the field, you'll find Andrew covering the stories of our "boots on the ground" who are taking the fight to the enemy and helping the women and children in their struggle for a better life. An author and independent foreign correspondent, Andrew writes on current events and international relations. His work appears regularly in such professional magazines as "Leatherneck", "The Gazette," "Jane's Intelligence Review", and USA TODAY Magazine, and recently served as the military consultant to Stephens Media Group for their "Valor Series." A member of the Marine Corps Combat Camera Association, Andrew's embedded 12x spanning 17+ months with Marine, Army, and National Guard troops in Haiti, Afghanistan, Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, and Beirut since 2006. His first book, "Charlie Battery; A Marine Artillery Battery in Iraq" won the 2007 Gold Medal for best Military Non-Fiction from the Military Writers Society of America, as well as Best Memoir from the University of Virginia's "Festival of Books." He was a co-author of both "American Valor" along with the popular "Uncle John" series of books for "Uncle John Salutes the Armed Forces", which was nominated in 2009 for "Best Anthology" by the Military Writers Society of America, and. His latest book, "Keep Moving or Die; Task Force Tarawa at An-Nasiriyah" is due out in 4th Q 2011 (Naval Institute Press) He's appeared on ABC, CNN, FOX, and Patriot Media, as well as late-night radio's "Joey Reynolds Show," the Hugh Hewitt Radio Show, and Patriot Radio. In November 2004 Andrew served as the Military Analyst for WPVI (ABC) Philadelphia during Fallujah-2.

Husband first, everything else is secondary. I've been a teacher, a soldier, and a management executive -- at some point I'll figure out what it is what I want to be when I grow up. I've been to Iraq twice as part of Uncle Sam's World Tour program, and now I'm in Afghanistan, seeing a conflict zone out of uniform for the first time.

Ali M. Latifi is currently in his final year of the graduate program of International Media at American University. Ali has been working with technology and communications from a very young age. He has a passion for Afghanistan, digital media, and journalism. Previously working as Special Assistant to SVP of Online Communications at the Center for American Progress (CAP), Ali has published several articles and Blog posts about Afghanistan, Iran, Islam, and digital media trends. Ali is currently looking to secure funding for a trip to Afghanistan for his graduate capstone project - a multimedia project about the youth of Kabul, Herat, and Bamiyan.

Michael D. Fay is a retired Marine Corps chief warrant officer. From January of 2000 to December of 2009 Fay was the artist-in-residence for the National Museum of the Marine Corps. During the current Global War on Terror he deployed twice each to Afghanistan and Iraq as an official combat artist. Fay's war art and combat experiences have been the subject of many media outlets; to include The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, CNN, C-SPAN, Pentagon Channel, Military Times, ABC, BBC, PRI, NPR, AP and AFP. His work has been featured in one-man exhibitions at the Farnsworth Museum and Wyeth Center, and the James A. Michener Art Museum. At present he is finishing a memoir of his war art and experiences. Titled The War Artist: A Memoir of Iraq and Afghanistan, it is being represented by the Veritas Literary Agency of San Francisco.
