S.A. JonesWhen I was seven my parents bought me a clunky, black typewriter that made a very satisfying 'ping' noise when I reached the end of a line. I was hooked. And thus began one of the most formative and important relationships of my life: that with the written word. After an undergraduate degree in History and Politics at the University of Western Australia I went on to do a PhD investigating debates around pornography and censorship in post war Australia (yes, they really did ban Lolita and Lady Chatterley's Lover on the grounds of obscenity). My first novel Red Dress Walking was published by Allen and Unwin in October 2008 and was described in the Sydney Morning Herald as a 'beautifully written and intellectually interesting novel' and in the Australian Book Review as 'the promising début of Western Australian author S.A. Jones. A revealing look at friendships and love affairs, and the cumulative minutiae that make and break them, the novel consists of the alternating narratives of Will and Emily as they reflect upon their relationship and trace it from its unlikely origins to the coup de grace...Red Dress Walking is testament to a promising talent'. I am fascinated by writing and writers, reading and readers. I am currently working on my second novel and a collection of creative non-fiction essays.

Today I run a website www.bizlearn.biz devoted to really useful business ideas, tools, topics and techniques, and I am looking for contributors.
