  • Mikhail P. Schalk
I am an independent writer/director. I have a number of film productions planned in the writing stages with a Computer-Animated movie titled The Last Patriarch at the forefront. I'm a fluent user of Blender, the free, open-source computer graphics application that allows me to work out my ideas visually when I can find time. My personal production blog details all my on-going projects: http://patriarchproduction.com My film work is currently on hold at the moment though. I'm currently working on a story called The Caves which will be released online in serialized episode format. I'm also learning to paint because I want it to be as much of a visual experience as a literary one when it goes online this summer. I'm an avid TV and Movie aficionado. I enjoy all genres and am always attempting to learn new things. My interests, as a result are broad and ever-changing but I tend to enjoy complex subject matter with intricate plot twists and really good characters. Great visual effects and a good soundtrack also go a long way. The Dark Knight, both Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, Casino Royale, any of the Star Wars movies, The Lion King, Indiana Jones, Lady and the Tramp, Bandslam, Casablanca, The Bourne Ultimatum, Down With Love, Star Trek, and Gone With the Wind are some of my favorite movies. My favorite TV Shows are HOUSE, LOST, Battlestar Galactica (off-air), The Wire (off-air), 24 (off-air), Secret Life of the American Teenager, Community, The Office, Gossip Girl, Rescue Me, The Closer, Damages, and 90210. I've been studying film and writing independently since I was 8 so I hope to share some of my vast knowledge and experiences of the fiction writing process and other topics I come upon in my study of life and the universe to become a better writer.
