Born in Puerto Rico, and raised in Brooklyn, NYC. Raised in a broken home by an overworked mother who was always too tired and too scared, and a physically abusive, mostly absent, alcoholic step-father. I never excelled in anything, was constantly afraid of everything and left school in the 10th grade. Lost and very much alone, I started braking into businesses and selling the goods on the street for comic books and pizza money. To work on my self-image I decided to take Shotokan Karate so that I can defend my self if the opportunity to do so ever came around again. It did. At 17 I joined the US Marines and found myself standing on yellow footprints on the beautiful, sandflea infected part of South Carolina called Paris Island. In the Marines I fell in love with all things combative. 36 years, four children, and one grandchild later the only constant in my life has been the love I have for teaching people of all walks of life to defend themselves in violent confrontations, exploring nature, thinking about eternity, and motorcycling.

Early in life I learned that by peacefully existing I was given opportunities to shatter & dispel negative stereotypes of people like myself – DIFFERENT. I was raised that to love & respect others as you do yourself will provide knowledge & armor that will protect you through eternity. All of my life experiences good and bad have made me who I am today and look forward to sharing and to optimistically educate & offer the positive possibilities of diversity and change.

  • Rowland C Carper Jr.
I am Rowland Carper from Ohio. I am married for 23 years now, have three boys that I am very proud of and four grand kids that I just adore. I am on disability/retirement from law enforcement since 2003. I had 14 years of service. I love to write. It has always been a passion of mine. I also write as therapy for wounds deep in my heart. I am counting on God our Father and Jesus Christ his son to help heal those wounds and finally come to terms with them. Through my travels of life I am seeking true Christianity. With help of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit I am sure I will reach my goal. I have given myself to God and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus of all sins. As i am man and will still sin I know that God will forgive me. All I have to do is confess my sin and ask for his forgiveness. I am proud to say that I do not travel alone, as always Jesus Christ is with me in my heart and my wife is with me by by side. This pleases me very much for I know that when we die we be able to spend eternity together in the kingdom of God. As I learn from reading spiritual motivational books, scripture and what is forwarded to us from the preacher at church from God. I find myself getting stronger and stronger to fight off the evil ways of the devil. Material things are nothing. It's the Faith and Love of Jesus Christ and God that sets us free. I have opened my heart and hope that you can to as we travel through these days of our lives to become true Christians. I just recently started reading. I used to hate to read but until I purchased my wife a Nook and downloaded a spiritual motivational book from the library for me on it. I wouldn't touch a book. Now I have my own Nook and I am reading the series "The Left Behind." by Lahaye. I am on the second series and I tell you once you start reading, Christian or not, you can not put it down. He has a way with words that makes the words just glow and grab you by the soul. It was the first spiritual

Like most people, I abhor writing bios for the simply reason that I never know what to say. I mean obviously I know all about myself but what about me could possibly be of interest to someone else? So I guess I'll fumble around with the basics like we're at some sort of speed dating event. Although, I tend to babble whenever I meet someone new anyway so I suppose this is an ordinary introduction from me: I'm 20 years old but look much younger, though I'm hoping this will come in handy in another 20 years or so. I'm a cat person, not a dog person, though it's not like I dislike dogs. I'm just not a massive fan of things that can leap as high as your face, make high pitched, annoying noises for hours on end, for no apparent reason and drool profusely on your lap when you're not paying proper attention. I'm still a student, studying English and History and I've loved writing since, well, since I could. I also love art, viewing mostly as I haven't had the time in a long while to produce anything of my own. I suppose that's another thing to go on the list of "Things I must do when I have some spare time", I know for a fact that when that day comes it will probably be the greatest, most productive day of my life. To use a woeful cliche I have to admit I have a passion for fashion (awful, I know), I thank God every day for the fact that I'm a poor student otherwise I would live for eternity in clothes shops like some sort of chic Gollum, creeping around stores at night, rubbing expensive shoes against my cheek whispering "my precious" softly to myself, weird, I know. Every week or so I have a domestic goddess day where things get cleaned and I turn into Martha Stewart and Bree Van de Kamp's secret love child with regards to kitchen activities. I do get a kick out of cooking and baking for others but this occurs no more than one day a week, I get rather lazy about it. I aspire to be a pro-active, keep fit kind of person but as long as my metabolism and I stay besties I'll m

I'm peachy keen. Thanks for asking. In my spare time I like to float around in a big pink bubble and hide your car keys. I take a copy of "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis everywhere I go. I like things that are disturbing and morbid. They make me hungry. I'm always looking for things that touch my soul. My soul has a name and that name is Joe. I spend my weekends in Eternity which is just up the road and down the elevator. I'm going crazy and you're welcome to come with me. We'll be back by Tuesday.

Life is for living to the max. This calls for a total rethink of our value systems and mindset in the face of an inevitable expiry date. We all fear to die. We will do just about anything to avoid this cruel enemy of man. I think what matters most in the face of inevitable demise is to start seeking answers to the serious questions that affect the destiny of man: What is the purpose of my life on earth? In other words, what am I on earth for? Personally, I believe this is the real beginning of any attempt to live life to the max. I am a strong believer in God and I am fully persuaded that there is life after death. The way we live our lives here and now will determine how we live in the life hereafter. Eternity has opened its mouth wide and large patiently awaiting the entry of each soul. This fundamental truth of life is what defines the very ethos of my being. My writing is to inspire people to be the very best they were created to be. My inspiration stems from my personal experiences and the Word of God. I am a Christian domiciled in Ghana. I have lived part of my life in Europe and I very much imbibe the concept of the world being a global village. Come let's synergize and share ideas together for the good of all humanity.

Raised in Sussex County, NJ when there were more cows than people. Had the sense to leave NJ, raised our family in Cayuga County, NY. Have had many jobs, based on my many interests, and perhaps a little ADD. Now retired in Lancaster County, PA, where we wonder about the economy, and our ability to keep up the payments. We don't wonder about where we will be for eternity!

I am a resident of Southern Arizona and will have my first novel, "Time and Eternity," released in early 2007. The story poses the question, "How would the world be different if Jesus never died on the cross?"
  • Stella Armstrong
Taught at De La Salle University in Manila fulltime for ten years, retired as a full professor in 2000. I am also a published author, always intrigued how disciplines intersect and create powerful insights - for example, how history and literature intersect if we see historians as writers and view their texts as creative works; or how translators influence the quality and extent of meaning that eventually reach us as readers of translated texts. The past five years or so have seen me transitioning into an entirely different journey as an immigrant and starting over in my new home. Every day is an adventure of colliding and merging cultures in countless ways!
